Who We Are?
It all started in 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic. In those tense and uncertain times, I—along with several fellow photographers from Portugal—sought to use art as a way to escape the harsh realities we were all facing.
What began as a small initiative quickly grew. In the months that followed, friends and photographers from around the world joined us. United by a shared passion and scattered across the globe, we decided to formalize our collective by joining IAAP and FIAP—two of the leading international photographic organizations.
We chose the name Saudade because it perfectly captures the feeling that binds us together—a deep, emotional longing that often reflects in our work.
Since our founding, we’ve organized more than 10 photography contests and built a vibrant creative community. But we’re just getting started. Our mission is to promote photography and video as powerful forms of communication, share news from the tech world, and build connections with photographers and tech enthusiasts worldwide—all with the goal of achieving meaningful online impact and success.
